Beautiful Day

We had planned for days that we were going to wake up get our dang kitchen ceiling finished. But as I drove home from the gym this morning I realized it was to beautiful to stay indoors and work on the house again. So we went on a family cruz day. We wound up were we usually do on south Congress st. where we feel more at home than anywhere else in Texas (and inspired.) We had lunch and mozzied around. I've been wanting to shoot the river so we made our way over to the 360 bridge for a little hike.
Unfortunately I was more worried about Ruby sliding off the edge to her sudden death than checking my camera settings. I assume I had the shutter speed way to high and that's why all these photo's look like it was overcast. I'm so bummed cuz the water was so clear and crisp and the sky was a bright blue. Oh well I guess Ruby's life doesn't come as often as a beautiful day. ha

NOTE: keep checking for pictures with my new flash that Brady got me for my birthday, its a amazing! almost as good as getting Brady in a box. (#1 cut a hole in the box.......)

another bloody day

I woke up this morning to my phone ringing. I'm not one of those who just hop out of bed to start the day, it takes a while. But when the phone kept ringing over and over I knew I had to get up. I grabbed the phone and it was Brady telling me to come and get him. He was walking to work (extreme walking) and some how, some way launched his head into a pole. As I pull up my poor husband is sitting on the curb with blood all over his face. It was nauseating. The scene was out of a gore movie. ARGE, we still have no insurance. But this picture is after the ER trip and luckily no stitches but they did get out all the dirt and glue it back together. Now what to do about the 2 chipped teeth? HA

My Little Brother

KYLE IS GETTING MARRIED. March 1st Kyle is marrying Jordan Carter. She has been fore warned of our family in case any of you were worried about her (hahaha) . She is marrying him any way. I'm excited to have a sister-in-law to add to list of people that I call on a regular basis to complain to. Welcome to the family Jordan.

sophia and ruby

Ruby got to have her best friend here too. We all had so much fun but the girls for sure had more fun than we did. Ruby cried every time she realized Sophie wasn't here after they left.

P.S. if you wondering why these pictures look so much better than all the ones before on this page its not because I'm getting better, its because Dave Tosti took them. Check out what a awesome photographer he is on his blog. just click on Tosti photo in the bar over to the right.

my 30th birthday

Not only did Brady surprise me with my best friend from California on my door step at the stroke of midnight on my actual birthday but he planed a whole evening out for me. Friday I had a day at the spa with my BFF and the had dinner at my favorite restaurant ( http://www.fondasanmiguel.com/ ) where all my Texas friends were waiting. I truly had the best birthday filled with all my favorite things......friends, food, drinking, dancing, dirty birthday songs from a piano bar and fighting. Thank you friends for making feel so loved and special!

starting off the year

This week was tough. We put my mom and Hamilton (romeos BFF) back on a plane on new years eve day. Ruby and I were already asleep before we got home at 5pm. We were wiped out from the week!!! So needless to say we partied like rock stars new years.......yeah right!
Brady was back to work and Ruby and I were back to doing....uh....whatever we do at home all day???
Brady started his new years off with a bang by getting a new tattoo today. He is on a mission this year to finish his arms. While at the convention Ruby decided that she "wants to draw tattoo's real bad." Brady walked out 5 hours later looking bold, bright and beautiful. I walked out with the worlds first toddler tattoo artist work all over my body (hours worth.) I say I'm the winner for the day!

our christmas cards

They have been discussed, designed, processed and performed through the brilliant and artistic mind of Brady Clark then into the computer, put through the saw over and over again, glued, painted, labeled, handed to the mail carrier (Jim), traveled through the united states postal services and coming soon............to YOU!!

oh yeah??

32 is way better than any other year.
We went to the Belmont for dinner and had a romantic good time in a dark green peather booth. the Ford's joined us for the evening which in our opinion made the night complete. jenny showed up sporting a sweet necklace that quickly became the hit of the night, each one of us took our turns wearing it for Brady. we need to get a sitter more than for just special holiday's! There's to many places in Austin that we want to go to and not enough babysitters.

happy birthday brady

Ruby was so excited to sing to brady and watch him blow out candles that we had to make a cake (brownies) even though he didn't really want one. Brady and I are celebrating tonight while ruby has a sleep over at the travis's (woohoo). A night out in Austin is exactly what he needs. pictures to come for sure!!!!

meet buddy the elf

The elf that has change our lives. This is buddy he has come from the north pole to watch ruby and relay messages to Santa if she has been naughty or nice. Things have never been so good around the house.
ruby's letter today:
DEAR BUDDY, Have a fun day at the north pole with Santa. Candy and toys and buttons and candy and not gum. sorry I peed my pants, sorry for eating the candy canes but Santa's bringing me candy. I want Santa to bring me a wedding ring but a pink one so I can marry a boy and candy canes. chocolate and ummmmm gummy bears. I love you sorry, ruby

um I think she might become a diabetic??? Today she snuck and ate candy canes off the tree then put one on buddy's lap and told me he gave them to her from the north pole. How can I get mad about lying (I told her he's Santa's helper???)

Fun with Fords

We got to hang out with the Fords last night. Ruby decided to show off her food network skills and talk us all through making a salad. The concept was good, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and lots of greens but her per portions were way off. Jenny was kind enough to partake in the madness. We also went to the Blue Genie art bazar and i got totally inspired to create more. Everybody should go check it out for some great gifts.

December is here

I'm so thankful that we live in a town that has still has its own little Christmas parade. Filled with local churches pulling kids dressed like they live in Bethlehem, senior citizens clubs doing a routine with lawn chairs to jingle bell rocks and every girl and boy scout troop in the area making there own floats and go carts to parade down Main st. I love my Town!!
Ruby got to visit with Santa to tell him what she wanted for Christmas (candy) and also she did not forget to bribe him and let him know that cookies will be waiting for him by the fireplace (smart girl)
Were decorating the house and making cookies for the rest of the day. Ahhh, life is good.

thanks Tami

I was totally inspired by my friend Tami's headboard that she made. of coarse she said it was easy so easy to make......not so much for me. but then again I took the trip yesterday to home depot with a bad back and a 3 year by myself. it was all a breeze after Brady got home to help. Go team Clark!! Goal for our room.....modern/romantic, just got to paint my dresser and I'm done.
hooray, finally a bed that's as exciting as me! HA

OKAY I'm thankful

I have totally been feeling sorry for myself lately. "I moved into this old house and the work is never ending, something always has to get fixed or finished." Every weekend for the last year feels like a project weekend. WHEN WILL IT END? I realized never and that's why I felt sorry for myself. But when I was looking at our thanksgiving photos it dawned on me how far we have come in one year. so I thought I would share it and make myself feel better by showing off our hard work. (last thanksgiving we had no running water in the kitchen, as a matter of fact we really only had dust and studs)

So I decided that this holiday this is what I'm thankful for: the opportunity to to do this. To create a concept, purchase the supplies, learn to build things, work the hardest I've ever worked, still love my husband through the process and now have a awesome kitchen a year later (oh yeah and the rest of the house)

Gobble Gobble

Happy Thanksgiving
Hope everybody ate as well as we did! Brady made his first turkey and I made my first pumpkin pie. Man, Brady is in the wrong profession. The best turkey I have ever had by far ( all 17 pounds of it.) Brady's dad and my dad both shared this holiday with us but we still missed our hectic family gatherings. I wish we could all be together on christmas, hoowee.
1 holiday down.......
Let the Christmas decorating begin!

We're Home

We made it. 4 bags, 2 back packs, 1 double stroller, 1 dog, a 3 year old and me, GEEZ. I almost had a heart attack going through security taking our shoes off, folding up the stroller, removing all jewelry and dog collars then removing the dog and getting him and ruby through the gate. I was ready for a cocktail before I even got on the plane. 7 hours later we were home! Praise the Lord.
Texas we're back!
